Research

I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Iowa studying American Politics and Political Methodology with a minor in Formal Theory. My dissertation research looks at institutional factors affecting the quality of the representational relationship between constituents and their elected officials. As this work lies at a complicated intersection between public opinion, political behavior (voting, campaigning, & legislative), and public policy; I employ diverse methodologies including original survey research, experiments, and large-N regression. I derive the statistical estimator as well as substantive predictions from the mathemathical model in the theory chapter.
